Which date is best to cancel?

I have a family share plan, and my main account contract ends 3/14/11 while my husband's (the second line) ends 9/12/11 - neither are advanced devices. I'm switching from Verizon in March; I know I'll incur ETFs for ending the second line contract early, but what day is best to terminate for my main line? I know it has to be after the contract end date but before the next billing cycle. So if I terminate on 3/15, will I get charged for the entire next month?

To prevent any additional charges, I would recommend for you to cancel your service the exact date your contract end date.

WAIT!!! dont jump to any conclusions here. When you cancel your services you will be billed to the end of your current bill cycle no matter what. So you will want to find out what months bill cycle that will be in cause if your bill cycle date is on the 14th and you disconnect a couple days later you will be billed for the full billing cycle. so be careful on that one. as far as going to another carrier, If you are porting your number to a different carrier, it does take a few days for the port to go through so find that out too. also if you arent taking your number and you dont want any etfs or you want to leave early without an ETF You can do what is called an assumption of liability, Which is where if you know someone who wants to take over the end of your contract, Mabe someone who doesnt want a full two year contract, you can do what is called an assumption of liability, where they would take your phones, phone numbers, and contracts and put them all in their name at absolutely no charge. That also would prevent them from having an activation fee. WIn-win-win senario!!!
