Dont get a Droid 2

Dont get a Droid 2! I have had this Phone 31 days and it is junk! Keys on keyboard dont work or double types letters, Locks up and U have to take Battery out, Rings and no call or message on phone, Battery wont last more than 4 hrs if I use the phone much and I just txt and call, you name it. And now they are sending me a used phone to replace the new $200.00 Phone I just got 31 days ago. Plus the want to charge me $35.00 to change to another phone and the sold me the junk phone!

Wow dude.....the first time or 2, after you get your new Droid, the phone goes through a lot of juice quickly, but if you let it get very low on battery, than charge it fully the first couple of times you'll get good battery life, mine lasts 1 -2 days easily on a charge, 3 days if I'm easy on data. The first time I used my phone, the battery went dead in 3 1/2 hours or so. 2 days later it was lasting a day and a half.

Task Killers are NOT necessary on 2.2 Froyo builds as Froyo has an internal task manager that works very well. I had the task killer at first and it sapped my battery and the phone wouldn't work well. Task killers work well with Android builds 2.1 and back. Give the phone a chance, it's pretty awesome overall and the software can't be beat by anything on the market, in my personal opinion.

hhhmmm, my wife has a d2

battery lasts 2-3 days

keyboard works fine

she reboots it about once a month, if that

thing works like very well

maybe its a bad phone, or it was damaged at somepoint

oh and they have a policy of returns within 30 days, shoulda went sooner

I called in one week after haveing problems and they did reset still didnt work. And no one told me about the 30 day when I had them on the phone!

No Wife got the phones and handed it to me. Dont worry I will make them change it out as soon as I have a problems next time and none of this lets try a reset stuff!

My Driod 2 works great with none of the issues you mention. If you have a local verizon store, I would walk in, tell them it does work etc. Perhaps they can help you. If you do not have a local store, ask to speak with a manager when you call in. It seems you have a defective phone right out of the box. Also, if you have the warranty voverage, they should just exchange it free of charge. This is an equipment problem and the warranty out of the box is longer than 30 days.

Funny. My D2 is my only phone. Even at the office I forward all of my calls from my softphone to my D2.

I have no issues with it.

It's possible YOUR device is defective, or it's user error.

I just got a Droid 2 Tuesday, so far I don't like it either. I called Verizon before taking it back to store, so I wouldn't have to pay the $35. It is heavy, battery doesn't last a full day, I've only made 3 calls on it & text a few times. The person at the store put Task Killer on it to save the battery life, not helping the battery life though. By the time you figure out how to unlock it, you missed a call. Not sure what's free to use with all the apps, if you have to pay, then you should have to download the apps. BTW, the sales people in the store think they have authority over Verizon Company TOTALLY , When I went to the store for authorized return, he gave me a VERY hard time over the $35. I still have this Droid 2, waiting until I cool off. What an idiot, he even told Verizon off on the phone. Not a good way to treat a customer or the companyyou work for.

By the time you figure out how to unlock it? You slide the bar to the right. You have to figure that out? Perhaps a smart phone just isn't for you.

Automatic task killers are unnecessary and actually hurt your battery life.

Battery life is user dependent. If you have your email, weather, social networking, updating too frequently it will hurt your battery. If you're in an area where you get 1X more than 3G, that will crush your battery in no time.

might be your phone or battery. my wifes d2 lasts days

task killer should be removed, it easts battery

if you cant figure out how to unlock it, then you dont need a droid

if an app is free it says so, again if you cant figure it out, dont get a droid

did you go to a corp store or a reseller? ther eis a big difference
