If the only resolution that your mother and sister found was to call into Verizon to have something "reset" you'll need to contact Verizon to have the same thing done. You can contact tech support via e-mail by clicking on the "Contact Us" link in the upper right-hand corner of this website.
You could also have someone call in on your behalf. Write down all of your information (account #, phone # and type, any billing password, last 4 of your social and the nature of the issue) and give it to that person, Verizon will be none the wiser that they aren't speaking with you.
