Apps won't install

Some apps off the market will download but won't install? How can I fix this?

What happens when you try to download one & it does not work? Does an error come up? You can try to turn off the phone & remove the battery for a little bit

Try force closing the Market under settings, then opening it up again.

What errors are you getting when you try to install the application? Here are the steps to make sure you're going through every thing properly. Hope it helps!

From the home screen, touch the applications tab(located at the bottom of the display).
Touch Market.
If presented, review the Android Market Terms of Servicethen touch Acceptto continue.
Touch Apps.
Touch a category(e.g. All applications, Comics, Communication, etc.).
To sort the list, touch one of the following:
- Top paid
- Top free
- Just in
Touch an application/ widgetsuch as:
- Widgets
  CNN News
  Delivers up-to-the-minute news and information on the latest top stories, weather, and entertainment.
  Weather Bug
  Delivers live local weather conditions.
  Fox News
  Delivers the latest and breaking news.
- Applications
  Visual Voice Mail
  Allows subscribers to view caller and voice mail information and listen to voice mail messages in any order.
If there is a charge for the application, touch Buy.
If the applicationis free, touch Install.
Touch OK.
Review the alerts for access. If they are not acceptable touch Cancel.
If applicable, ensure the desired cardis selected then touch Buy now.
If a payment method has not been established, enter the credit card informationthen touch Save.

Just to let everyone else know..

I came across this same problem. I proceeded to do a battery pull and this worked. It could have been that as a fix, or it could have been a market issue resolved over time.

I've been having shortcuts hiding a little while longer tdhan they should at times lately

I tried pulling the battery and trying to download the apps again. It even happens when I try to update an app.the program always downloads but when it needs to install it says it was unsuccessful...this error happens if it is a new app being installed or an app already installed however being updated. In addition, this doesn't happen with all the apps I try to download.

Does anyone know what Error 18 means when an app you try to download does not install.???
