She asked me if I wanted her Blackberry Bold to use on my line. Do you think it will activate on my line with money owed on her account?

No, and I am sure that she will either lose her deposit, or have her credit card charged for the amount due plus any ETF. She may also have a problem with her new carrier when her account goes unpaid and makes an impact on her credit rating.
