how do I turn phone off

This may seem like a stupid question but when i use the power/lock button the phone still receives phone calls.   This is the first phone I have had that didnt come with a detailed owners manual.  Not happy

Get used to no manual, all phones have them on line to download or to order free. As for the power lock button, it sounds like you are just shutting down the screen. To power down, unlock the screen. Press and HOLD. The power button until a menu appears so you can shut offthe device.
