what do you do..when your screen Locks up...and Nothing works...
very upset
Do you have a task killer from the market? Remove it if you do and restart your device. It shouldn't happen again ever. If it does then there is something wrong with your device and should take it in.
where did you get that information? i was told by verizon tech support yesterday the droid2 does indead need a taskkiller for froyo. there is one now on the market.

Of course there are task killers available that doesn't mean they need to be used. The Droid2 (not sure about others) have plenty of tasks that respawn when killed, so it stands to reason if you have a task killer set to kill select tasks, and those tasks respawn your task killer will keep killing them. That's a lot of work.
I have had my D2 since the 12th, I have no task killer and I have no lags in performace. The Android OS seems to do a very good job keeping everything in check.
the guy at the store downloaded it for me, and said i needed it lol
If it happens again with you next device. Then you may start to believe me. I have already went through a legnthy debate about it. There's a right way to close apps, and MOST task killers do it the WRONG way, and even do it while in use by you which causes instability issues over time.
exacly why i questioned this,,, i just got a replacement droid2 a few days ago. My problems were with the camera, couldnt focus or save photos along with other problems with my downloaded music files. They quit playing, error code(file unrecognized) . Somehow i managed to get my itunes music play on the droid2 for a couple of weeks. that baffled verizon told me that it wasnt supposed to happen. but it did. might have been part this problem too. Anyway, The past week or so i saw a post about whether or not taskkiller apps were causing damage. i agree that if a process gets terminated I might get some undesirable results. so for 4 days i didnt use my task killer and noticed that i was freeing up more memory by alowing the system regulate things or so i thought. then i started crashing and locking up. that is when i called techsupport and we troubleshot and did a phone reset, then sent me to the store for a replacement , and said something about the pnone having a software issue. duh? So here we are on the topic of task killer apps and whether or not there is a place to use these in 2.2.20. right now i see your point pool_shark. So you suggest to do Battery Pulls instead of using a taskkiller?
thanks in advance
