Does the update reset your phone? Meaning that you better back-up before you update? Even if you OTA. or do it manually. ..

In typical cases all you data will remain. Of course there is always a chance that something could go wrong ands there's never anything wrong with backing up :smileyhappy:

I have never had to do a backup for an update or anything. I guess it would be safe to do though in case anything goes wrong during the up date.

I hear that this update will keep everything in place. Your contacts should be auto synced. I would suggest AppBac just incase something happens.

I manually installed 2.2 FRG01B and it kept everything in place.

I have not had my droid updated yet to 2.2, should this have happened automatically for me like many have said it has? Or are they still updating the droid?

When 2.2 is available you will get a notification on your phone directly saying a new software update is available "update now" or "update later"
