3G disconnect while on voice call

So i can not use any IM services while on a voice call. Spoke with tech support and Motorolla and apparently they have designed the phone to disconnect the 3g while on a voice call. My samsung rogue was awesome at running a variety of messaging services while on the phone. So why cant droid? Are there any apps that can be run for yahoo messenger or any other messengers that allow you to use both???

CDMA currently cant do voice and data at same time.. on smart phones those messaging services use data.. on "dumb"phones and feature phones like the rogue they use txt messaging as a way of sending messages...

Try doing a search in the market for some aim or yahoo instant messaging apps. Hopefully you'll find one that only uses text messages & no data. I know of 2 apps that come into mind (Hi AIM,Hi yahoo) but those 2 apps use data instead of text messaging.

If you don't find an app, I suggest if you really want to use instant messaging then set up IM forwarding
