usb 760 broad band

I have a usb 760 broad band modem I've been using for about a year (on dial up phone line before) the speed is aceptable for me.

I am upgrading my computer to a Dell xps7100 and a kodak 7250 wirless printer. I also have an HP laptop. I want to create a network set up that allows me to print fron either my desktop or my laptop. I can't connect my laptop via wire and I don't want to unplug the usb modem every time I want to use my laptop. Is there someone that can help me put this system together?

Sorry if my terminology is not up to speed, but I am a real light weight when it comes to computers.

I have a CradlePoint MBR1000 router I purchased from here: http://moremobileinternet.com/ I plug my USB760 and printer directly into the router. I connect my computers to the router via wireless WIFI. It works great and I don't have to fool with the VZAccess Manager software.

I would go with the Cradlepoint CTR350 its only $75 and will get the job done, no sense in spending more money on higher price router if you can get the same job done...http://www.3gstore.com/ctr350

I have a CRT350 also. It works fine as long as your printer is actually wireless.

I hooked up a cradle point 900 and it"s working great. Before my usb760 would time out overnight and I would have to bring up the vzacess status box to connect, now I don't have the vz manager Icon available. I also can't easily check my usage, as I did with the manager status box.

When the 760 is connected to the router doesn't it ever shut down where you have to reconnect

Download and install NetMeter to keep track of your usage in real time. I close my laptop when I'm not on line to disconnect from my router.

Actually, whether you disconnect or not VZ will disconnect you if it's on for so long I believe. The fair usage act you know.

However, you can log into the cradlepoint router using the web interface for losts of information on the modem. When you log in, just click on modem for the RSSI (signal strength) and they have added activation and other goodies to the cradlepoint for certain models and certain devices.

However, it is recommended to connect via the software and modem directly in the computer at least once a month for the updates to the PRL. They are constantly adding towers to the network so it's best to keep your connection stable.
