Has there been any talk or information made available about an extended battery for this phone? I know that I have seen some info in other forums, but have yet to see anything official on if and when it would be available.
I don't think one is available yet
I have heard sometime in August. But, nothing verified.
I do have some questions.
If the extended battery requires an extended cover and you have one or both docks, will you will be able to dock. Car dock, possibly because of the removable insert for case?. Also, will your hard cover fit?
If the extended battery will only give you about 17% increase, that will probably only give you about an hour or two more power. Would it not make sense to get a second standard battery and swap out the batteries.
Last question related to standard battery. Has anyone seen a stand alone charger for a standard battery?
I know there isnt much chance of this. but I am hoping that they can develope a case simular to the iphone juice pack air battery case, it doubles battery time but fits like a regular hard shell case... After looking at Droid X without battery cover. I beleive this should be possible but hopefully developers will be open to make one..

Here's a site that says there is a 1750mAh and a 3500mAh battery under development for the Droid X.

Patiently/Impatiently waiting for the release of Android 2.2!
That 3500 mAh battery seems awesome. When my battery wont last a full day, I will be all over it.
