Droid Incredible Broken Power Button

I have a Droid Incredible that is less than a year old, but suddenly yesterday the power button quit working. The phone was on when it happened, and I thought I should reset it to fix it, but now the phone is permanently off. I can tell it's not the battery because the charging light is green, meaning it's fully charged.

Any answers?

will it turn on if you pull the battery out and put it back in? i don't recall how long the manufacturer's warranty goes? hopefully a year?

Take it back to VZW for a refurbed replacement.

ya that's a shame,if he had bought it at best buy and a best buy warrenty

he would have gotten a brand new phone right in the store,now he'll have a 600.00

BB does offer an extended warranty, but for normal warranty service it is thru Verizon.

You can take apart the phone if your handy with things like that. The power button that you push is separate from the actual button on the mother board of the phone. If it came off the mother board your probably out of luck. This is one easier phones to take apart. There are a bunch of sites out there if you need parts. If all this fails list the phone on eBay.

The warranty on my phone was up so i took it apart and simply wiped away any dirt or anything obstructing the button and it works like new.

The same thing happened to mine. I was two weeks past the warranty & called Verizon to find out my options. They replaced it with a refurbished phone (for free) which came with a 90 day warranty. And the refurbished phone had an issue with the sound. So I called them again, they had me to take it to the store & they approved for another replacement. I wasn't due for an upgrade at the time & the only way my phone would turn on or off (or off standby) was if I removed the battery or plugged it in. The power button quit working all together.
