Text messages goes into a "loading" state when trying to view them.

Hi,

 

Can someone please help me with this issue I'm having? Whenever I try to read a text message for this one contact, it goes into a "loading" state and never loads. I'm able to send a text to this person, but unable to go into my sent inbox as well. This only happens for one contact. I'm not having any trouble with any other contacts.

 

I've tried deleting this contact fully as well as all associated test messages, then re add. Still getting the same thing. The only thing that seems to work is installing an SMS app from the market (handcent or chompSMS). While these two app does allow me to view the sent and received messages as well allow me to send messages, I would like to be able to use the stock app for this contact just as any other contact. Any help would be nice. Thanks!

I have provided some information below that may help.

 

Step 1 – Try a soft reset

 

-Power the device off

 

-Take out the battery for 20 seconds

 

-Place the battery back in

 

-Power the device back on

 

Step 2 – Try resetting the application data (instruction given below)

 

-Press Menu

 

-Select Settings

 

-Select Applications

 

-Select Manage Applications

 

-Select All

 

-Select Messages (native messaging app)

 

-Select Clear data (***Please note, your personal settings will be set back to default)
