My iMac is not recognizing the device. Am I missing something? I know when I connect at work (windows) it asks if I want to run the Motorola software.... Any comments would be helpful
Thanks
Just plugged mine into my USB cable and I get disk like a CD called Motorola. When I open the disk I get 4 icons labeled Autorun.inf, config.ini, MotoConnect_1.1.31_Driver_4.7.1.exe, and setup.exe. Nothing opens. I have no idea where to go further. When I try to open any of them, it comes up they are on a locked volume.
OK--I need to look further. I also get a drive called NoName that contains 16 items that are apparently the files of the phone. I do see one called media that must be where the music goes. I also see dropbox and kindle as well as others. I do see an untitled folder that contains 2 test files I created with Quickbooks. I am looking at this with a 2 yr old iMac just so you know.I hope this helps you.
I have provided some information below that may help.
Step 1 – Ensure Mass storage mode is enabled. (Instructions below)

Step 2 – Try putting the device into debugging mode.

Step 3 – Try a soft reset
-Power the device off
-Pull the battery out for 20 seconds
-Place the battery back in
-Power the device back on
I think if you go to the notification area and follow his directions to mass storage mode, go back to the Media folder in the NoName drive open it , then go to audio folder or whatever it's called and put your music there you will be in business.
