Have you received the official 2.2 OTA update? When, where and what version.

Since I have seen several posts where Verizon techs have said the update continues to be pushed out, have you received the official (not downloaded) OTA 2.2 update since August 5, 2010?

If you could, please include: (1) the date and time your received the update; (2) where you are located; and, (3) the version of the 2.2 update.

Got my update today, was about 11:00 am is Salt Lake City, Ut. Every thing seems to be working good so far. I see a few things different but not any thing major. Maybe I don't know what i'm looking for. Is there a place to go and read about all the upgrades and changes? I like the added main screens and more options on camera, im still looking for other changes.

oh, and I have 2 droids, it only updated one of them. but it did fix my issue with mounting with windows Vista. all good.

Still waiting (patiently) here on "Planet Houston" as well. Pretty LAME of Verizon to not provide it's loyal customers with information as to when we should expect this update - they never have any problem cashing my monthly check tho'... :smileysad:

I know a couple people who live very close to me that have already received the update. One person received it last week and my brother in law, who lives down the street from me, received his yesterday morning. At this point, I'm convinced that this update isn't launched based on where I live. This doesn't make any sense. I'm still waiting patiently, but I'm getting more anxious everyday. My coworker, who got his update keeps showing how cool the update is and it only gets me more anxious. UGH!

In massachusetts. I got mine saturday 8/14. My wife's phone hasn't received the update. Maybe because her phone is a newer replacement.

Got it about 0800EST on 8/16/10. I'm located in Delaware. Doesn't seem to have the wireless hotspot feature.

8:30 am est. girlfriend got the frg01b Jacksonville Florida. Her battery was below 50% and the update didn't even pop up I checked it and it showed ready to install. I charged it above 50% and it popped up on the screen..Food for thought mine did the same thing.

The update installed but I did get that error screen at the very end that is shows on the update supprt page. I had to follow the instructions (remove the battery and re-boot). When I did, the install was already there and I have had no problems with it since.

My husband still has not received the update on his Droid on 8/16. We bought our original Moto Droids at the same time, are on the same family plan & our phone numbers (which we've had for several years) are only 50 digits apart, so I can't figure out how it's being issued :smileysad:

I agree. This doing it at random is kinda **bleep**. How about do it from who got the Droid first to last...in that type of order....I never get the same answer or story...so idk what to expect..except impatience haha :smileyvery-happy:

My wife and I both received our Android 2.2 Froyo updates today. She got her's first thing this morning and mine just downloaded about 10 minutes ago. We live in Western Kentucky. We both got the FRG01B. It was totally worth the wait!

My husband still hasn't received his.

No problems with install. Seems faster...who knows?

Wish ringer (silent/vibrate/sound) worked the same as it used to.

Not thrilled with auto-restart of apps. I'm less concerned about memory, which I trust droid to manage, vs draining the battery by GPS coming back on all the time. The application that started up GPS isn't well-behaved, and doesn't have a "quit" option.

I read the concerns about using ATK...so I used it just for that one app, but it re-started automatically. Had to go into the app and shut off the use of gps inside the app, which means I'll have to go in and turn it on when I actually want to use it. Oh well.

More interested in getting flash :smileyhappy:

I reside in Brooklyn New York and have not yet received the update. I just called Verizon wireless customer service and they told me it can be a week or a week and a half after the official release, from what they told me was August 13th. I want my update already!. Is there anyone in this blog who lives in New York can tell me if they received the update or not? The wait is killing me!

I woke up Sunday morning and saw the update waiting to install. Verified after install that it was Android 2.2 build FRG01B. Playing with it and so far enjoying it here in New York City.

talked with some tech @verizon today and was told that FRG22 is about a month out, atm they are releasing 100,000 updates a day of FRG01B

was told NO FLASH thats up to adobe whenever they decide, was told maybe a week but unsure as they are 3rd party.

now off to start my complain about 01B thread.

Actually, I am "Rob62" and Posted on the 15th using the term "from Planet Houston", but I had to create a new

account because this system would not let me sign in - EXTREMELY ANNOYING!!!

Anyways, I received my 2.2 update at approximately 12:35 A.M. on the 18th. I had no problems installing it. VERY

simple. My wife received her Droid the same time (day) as I and she has yet to receive 2.2 update.

Now, for my Droid, I wait for the Adobe 10.1 update and then we can all wait for the 4G upgrade...
