How do you delete un-necessary networks from wifi list?

On my Droid 2, I go to

Settings/Wireless & networks/Wi-Fi settings/Manage Networks (at bottom of list).

On that screen it says "To conserve battery, delete un-necessary networks from the list."

Great advice -- but how do you do it?

I went back to the Wi-Fi settings screen; long press on an unwanted network -- the only choice is "Connect to Network".

I powered off the phone. Waited awhile. Powered back on. Same result. I have the latest Motorola maint applied.

Any ideas?

That's strange. WhenI do the same thing (long press) one of the networks I only get the option to forget the network. I've always assumed that forget and delete were the same thing.

I have provided some steps below to remove networks from the network list.

1.From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).

2.Touch Settings.

3.Touch Wireless & networks.

4. Touch Wi-Fi settings.

5. Touch Manage Networks.

6. Touch and hold the appropriate WiFi network.

7. Touch Forget network.

My option is to "forget all networks" also. I would like to be able "ignore" all networks except the ones i specify. The steps listed only allow you to forget networks that you have connection with, not the ones in the scan list under the "wifi networks" tab. Does anyone know of a way to stop scanning AND keep connection with a specific wireless network?

Turn off the notification will be the only way you won't see it. It will connect automatically if you have it set that way.

The only way not to get any wifi not to scan is to turn off the wifi radio. This is not limited to this OS or phone.
