Reminder Notification

I've noticed that a reminder notification tone will go off every now and again if I haven't checked the new messages waiting. Is there a way to stop this from happening other than silence the notification tone all together? I charge my phone in my bedroom and sometimes I hear the tone through the night. I don't want to have to turn my phone off.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

If your not looking for important notifications or phone calls at night, then I would turn the sounds off when you go to bed. this can be accomplaished 2 different ways.

1 - go into settings then sounds and display. The top item is Silent mode and tapping that once will light up the checkmark and all sounds except alarms and media are silenced.

2 - from the locked screen, the slider on the right says sounds on/off. Slide it to the left to turn off sounds, and in the morning, slide it to the left again to turn the sounds on.

Hope this helps. I use the settings silent mode when I am in meetings at work and have the vibrate on. I have not played with the slider on the lock screen to see what that silences and what it doesnt.

If I turn it to silence then it silences the notification for a call. I don't want to do that.

I thought maybe there was a setting somewhere to turn off the reminder notification all together. If someone can help me locate it, that would be helpful. I don't want to have to turn off the sound or specific notifications at night and then have to remember to turn it back on in the morning.

I came in looking for the same thing (I think). I get an e-mail and the e-mail notification sound chimes. Unless I check the e-mail in the phone, the same notification occurs every 10-15 minutes. I just want it to happen once initially and stop at that.
