I just got my Droid X today however it did not come with a book that shows the basic ways to use the phone. Should I have received one? If not, how do I figure how things like down loading ring tones and ring backs, etc?

Welcome to the wonderful world of X.

Beyond the manuals which you can download from the Motorola site, you have the manual installed in your Droid. Just tap on the Help icon, and the third title down is "Users Guide". Not as fancy as the actual manual, but just as good. The other three items are also well worth looking at.
