droid x Gmail problem

I have had the droid x since early October i have never gotten a gmail notification i costintly have to sync or refresh to get my email...My aol mails come in faster than my gmail..  called tech support and they tell me this is googles problem and not verizons. Any one with help on this or experieced please help

Assuming you have a Gmail account. Tap on the Gmail icon. Next, tap on the menu key and tap More. Now, tap on Settings and scroll down to Email Notifications. Make sure that the checkmark is lit up. If not, tap on it to activate it.  You could also check to see if "Notify once." is on or off. If on, tap on it to deactivate it. Hope this helps.
