Turn Off Vibration When Pressing Menu Key

A user suggested unchecking haptic feedback to turn off the vibration when you touch certain keys. I did not work or maybe we are talking about two different vibration functions of the Droid 2.

When you press any of the four function keys at the bottom of the device (e.g. Menu, Home, Back, Search key) or swipe right to unlock, the device does a small vibration. Is it possible to turn that feature off?

Unfortunately there is no way to change this at this time. It is how the phone is programmed. Hope this helps.

Are you sure you are looking in the right area? I believe the one you are looking for(May be as above since it has "blur" integrated) should be under

Menu button --> Sound Settings --> Haptic Feedback (this one may be different due to Ninja Blur)

there should also be one for the android keyboard

Menu button --> Language & Keyboard --> Android Keyboard --> Vibrate on keypress.

Both options are deselected. Unless there is some other preference I can check, my guess is it is how the phone is programmed as Zachary mentioned.

It is minor annoyance when you press any of the four main function keys or when you turn the phone off it creates a small vibration. I just think it is unnecessary and just contributes in a small way to battery drainage.

I believe you can turn that off by turning off haptic feedback

The battery, if any at all, isn't my issue. The vibration is just plain annoying. The DROID could turn it off. Why the hell not the Droid 2?

I am finding the same thing VERY annoying. It also vibrates whe I re-enable the phone. I almost drop it, it's like getting a little electric shock.

I want it to vibrate as a ring in silent mode, but that is all, no other vibrating please.

This is tagged as 'Problem Solved". It isn't, the reply from Verizon says that they can't solve it.

This is a very unusual use of the term 'Solved'

It isn't that they can't solve it, it can't be disabled. That solves the open question of how to disable it.
