does anyone know if we can set separate ringtones for our contacts like on those other multimedia phones (not smartphones)? i couldn't figure out if that was a possibility with the droid x.
Droid X is a smart phone. Droid X does have the ability to set a ringtone for each contact yes.

From your contact list choose edit-->scroll down the the "Additional Info" and click on the arrow. In here is where you would assign a specific ring tone for that contact.

Download the app called Ringo Lite to assign a ringtone to contacts.
