Battery life?

I've had my Storm2 just over a year.  Today, I called home and my husband couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear him.  He called me back and it didn't ring.  I was in a store and that might have been it, but the battery isn't holding a charge well, either.  Is a year about it for a battery?

 

I plug it in for recharging every night.  Is that too often?  Should I let the battery run down?

I would visit a Verizon store and ask if someone can test your battery. I noticed mine has been draining quickly lately, but it's more than two years old. And no, charging it every night should not have a negative effect on your battery life.
