Accessing two gmail accounts

I have two gmail accounts -- one that I use for home and one for work. I'd like to access both accounts on my phone,  but it isn't clear how to do that. A couple times I did get the machine to show me the names of both accounts at the same time, and I could click one or the other. But I'm not sure how that happened. Mostly, what happens is I click on the gmail icon, I get access to my work email, and no other option can be seen.

 

I remember once I clicked an area near the top of the screen and it opened up the names of both of the accounts. But I've tried that again and it hasn't worked. Any advice?

From the home screen click menu-> settings -> accounts.
Click add account and then google.
Click next then sign in, and give your email address and password.
Next, then be sure and turn on email sync.
Click finish and finish setup.
The next time you launch gmail in the upper right corner there will be a button that allows you to switch accounts.
