Update just came up on phone I uploaded it. Now Droid X is not working
says
Bootloader
30.04
Err A5,70,00,00,23
Battery OK
Ok to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Please Help!!!
Remove battery, replace battery, Hold down power and home button until a droid guy and triangle appear on the screen. Press the Search button, then select wipe Data option with the volume keys. Follow the prompts to reset data.
This is a bootloader error, if the data wipe/reset doesn't work you will need to take it to a VZW corp store. If they determine it's due to something you have done they may charge you for a replacement phone.
My Droid X has had nothing but problems from the day I got it, NOW THIS!
I really don't have the time to go to a Verizon store.
Thankfully I have the insurance...It better not cost me anymore than lost time.
Sorry I had to vent.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I am experiencing this EXACT same problem! Way to go Motorola...My phone was working perfectly until this "update" was requested. To the T is what is on my phone and I tried what was recommended and it went right back to bootloader screen.
Verizon tech stated that the phone has bricked and can no longer be used. I have someone that can fix but under warranty and not using...WHY PUT OUT AN UPDATE when you haven't got the bugs out!
VERY, VERY DISSAPOINTED!

As with any electronic device, when updating there is always a chance of a failure. If you use insurance it will cost you your $100 deductible.
I always find it funny when people blow a gasket over a $200 phone investment needing repair, yet when their $50,000 vehicle breaks down under warranty it's just a minor inconvenience. This is why you have a warranty people.
My Droid X is fixxed. I brought it to the Verizon store and they did whatever they did to it behind closed doors for 15 minutes.
I didn't lose a thing and it didn't cost a dime. Of course I am going to be a little nervous the next time I have to update.
