ok, so i have been googling to no avail and figured i would give these forums a shot. i was attempting to transfer files from my laptop (windows 7) to my sd card (via an adapter), something i have never had a problem with before. this particular time, however, i kept getting a message saying the disk was write protected. i first checked that the lock switch on the card adapter wasn't engaged. then i right clicked on the sd card in 'my computer' and saw the read only box was checked. i unchecked it and was able to transfer the files.
when i reinserted the card to my phone, i got an error message saying the sd card was blank or an unsupported file type. the phone gives me the option to format, but when i select it nothing happens. i pulled it from the phone, put it in the adapter, and put it in my laptop. the laptop will not recognize the card either. if i go into 'my computer' sometimes it will show the e:/ drive as an sd card, but nothing for the capacity. when i click on it, the progress bar at the top will move, but nothing else happens. occasionally the laptop will also give me the option to format, but nothing happens.
any clue on how to solve this? obviously at this point i don't care if i have to format (i back my sd card up to my pc from time to time), i just want to be able to use the card that came with my phone. i am currently using an 8gb card form my last phone, and it works fine both in the phone and in the laptop, so i know the adapter is not the problem. any help would be appreciated.
