I bought this phone because I was told it was similar to the iphone. That was not the case. Nowhere near as user friendly. I was tired of at&t and thought this would be as close as I could get. Well it ain't close.

I think this is more of a individual opinion, I am sure a number of users may veiw your statement as untrue, another way of looking at this if you are in a state of mind that everything the device does is going to be compared to another device you most likely not accept any device as being better.
I am very happy with my device and as for the level of being user friendly is also from ones perception, I do not view a iPhone as user friendly, I see it as more as simple than anything, I perfer something customizable and iPhones limited customizing that consist more of changing wallpapers and icons. If you like that concept you are free to your opinion but mine has came to perfer Android.... or even clear my Droid X.
Hope you figure out a solution to your sitation...
The Droid X is a Smartphone, the Iphone is eye candy and a simple device targeted for non-tech-savy users. So yes you are correct "it ain't close." It's an entirely different device and routinely out performs the Iphone4 in ever reputable head to head test performed. It's like trying to compare a bicycle to a motorcycle. Sure they both have 2 wheels and handlebars, but that is about where the similarities end.
Now you say "Nowhere near as user friendly." User Friendly has become synonymous with: my grand mother can use it.
So in the future please qualify your statements rather than posting a generic attempt at bashing a phone with no factual references. Now, if you truly do not like the phone, kindly use your 30 day no questions asked return policy, after which you can return to AT&T and your extravagantly simple Iphone.

Well you may get you wish, many news stations as well as WallStreet Journal has reported in the last few days that there has been verification that a iphone will be coming to Verizon by 2011, but of course it also reports that Verizon wouldnt go on record either way with a reply that means there may be some truth to it with the level of credible sources but Verizon hasn't cared to acknowledge this as a fact but Apple verified they are working on a CDMA version of the iPhone on this article 10-06-2010 http://www.kctv5.com/technology/25304345/detail.html...
So you will have to wait and see as usual.
Im happy with my Droid X and this news doesnt change my views, I still feel that Android is a better device over iPhone, but this is my opinion.

As for learning to like your phone, if it's not working for you return it while you can. The Iphone sells so well because it is a simple device. Many people like this sort of thing in a phone, however just as many don't. No one is trying to bully you into liking a phone that is not suited to you.
As for your posts, they are VERY VAGUE. When people post comments like these it makes one think they are just a fanboy from another device here to post trash and has never held the phone in question. To be honest I'd personally put a 90% chance you are indeed one of them.
So true. Just like the comments generalizing One phone and calling it simple. Personal experience is need to make a more educated comment on a subject, not just ones dislike for that subject. It also set a bad tone. I came away upset as apposed to better informed as to my initial question.

Maybe you should ask the person who told you that the Droid X was similar to the Iphone rather than complete strangers who are not privy to the conversation. It's like asking us why your boss didn't like your project yesterday.
The Droid X is not like the Iphone, it is a much more complex device and requires a more technical knowledge to do certain things.
Now, back to my main point: If the phone doesn't work for you RETURN IT! {please keep your posts courteous}
