Regarding, yet again, terrible battery life

I know that many, many people have terrible battery life with their Dinc but has anyone noticed it decreasing recently? For the past few days my battery life has become horrible, and as I look at my phone now (which I haven't in 20-25 minutes) it has dropped from 35% to 26%! I'm not sure what it is because my usage hasn't changed. I used to make it fine throughout the day, but now I can't seem to make it til' 4 in the afternoon. Anyone else having this issue? If so has anyone heard if there is a fix with froyo (if its coming soon)?

How many apps do you have running in the background? Use something like advanced task killer to shut down apps that you dont need running. Also is your WiFi turned on or even your bluetooth. All of those things will cause your battery to drain faster.

With moderate use my battery lasts all day long. With light use its gone 2 and even 3 days without needing charged. Heavy usage Ive managed to drain it in half a day but I was using the thing pretty much non stop for 4 hours.

The battery life in the Incredible is not that bad if you just take some time to improve the performance by fine tuning it a little.

I'm not sure how many apps are running, since I read that it was bad for the operating system. But if it helps with battery life then I might reinstall it, I mean I pay 2 bucks a month for a warranty anyway. Anyway thanks for the input, i'll check it out.

app killers are fine. you just have to learn how to use them properly. you can create an "ignore" list and include anything that you don't wish to kill (clock, calendar, etc). also, here are just a few tips....there are plenty more out there. make sure wifi is off unless you are using it, set the screen to a low (more dim) lighting, or even auto (it will get lower and brighter on it's own), set email to only check every 15 minutes (if you don't NEED it to check constantly), if you run a weather widget then set it to update only when you prompt it. you can turn off your gps (i don't because i use many apps during the day that use it...but if you don't use location sensitive apps very often, then it really doesn't need to run constantly). plaenty other tips out there...but these are some steps i took. i get a full day with about 3 hours of actual use. i have noticed though, that when i charge it unnecessarily (ie...if it's only 25-50% drained) it does not seem to last as long??? so i wait until it is at least orange before giving it a full charge.

I read the article [you don't need task killer,and why u don't need it] so I decided to uninstall it to see just how long my battery would last. After four days I reinstalled task killer, my battery life average seven hours with it and about four and a half without it. To me task killer is a great app. You have to set it up right and when u do you will notice a difference

agreed. in the articles everyone always directs me too, they still clearly make statements like "android will end the app when it needs the memory." well i'd rather end the app when it "could use" the memory!!!! or statements like "the apps running in the background use very little resources." ok...but they still USE resources. i've seen nothing that really says you shouldn't use them, if you know how to use them properly (nothing convincing anyway). yes...if you want your alarm to go off in the morning then you can't kill it. but all it takes is a little learning and they are fine. 4 months running mine and it's caused no problems. and i promise you that after i've killed the dozen apps running, my device most definitely runs smoother (no glitchy scrolling or lags!!)

Two things, I got a seidio 1750mAh battery on amazon.com. It is about 20% larger (in terms of capacity) and lasts about 20% longer than the one that came with the phone. Also, (mostly on the weekends) if I turn of the wifi, blutooth, and sync the phone will last more than all day (making a few phone calls). I believe that the wifi and google sync seem to suck up the battery, so I turn them off when i'm at my computer and not checking email on my phone.
