Verizon Wireless stores do not carry Droid X replacement - not happy with the service.

My Droid x screen went out, I took it back to the Verizon Wireless Store do not carry replacement and they will have to mail a replacement to me, since it is Friday I will not get the phone until Monday or Tuesday. I asked the tech person what do I use in the meantime, he said to use an old phone. The other option was to pay $100 to get a new replacement phone off the shelf. I explained to the tech person that I pay good money for the insurance and they should keep replacement phones in stock.

I understand your concerns but theses days this is a common practice for carriers because the device is usually replaced by the insurance company, which is a 3rd party company and isn't directly linked to Verizon. and I am assuming that this method is to simplify the company's tracking of the levels of stock of replacements. I have notice that all carriers have this as a practice and I am figuring this is Asurance Insurances policies not the carriers.

Some stores keep done replacements in stock, the first time I had to replace my phone they had to mail me one, the second time they had one. Plus, within the first year, replacements are not handled by insurance unless you break the phone.

This isnt actually correct, if you read of all the post about the devices that have been replaced you will see that almost all of the user always recieved a (Certified Pre-Owned) device that does in fact come from Asurance and not Motorola. I do understand the belief that Motorola replaces devices for the first year but the device is about 6 month old and I have only heard of one or two users that recieved a device from Motorola.

My understanding was that verizon replaces warrantied phones for the first year. Once you are past your first 30 days, you get a CLNR. After the 1 year warranty is over, you then have to go through Assurion. The second replacement I got for my Eris, the rep went in the back and came back with a CLNR. This was less than a month shy of my 1 year warranty being up.

I had a device replaced about 2 months in with a Certified Replacement and the package that the phone came in had Verizon logos on it but the information on label had information related to Assurion so uts hard to say for sure I guess. :smileywink:

They are just stores that sell Verizon products and services. There are no more Verizon owned stores. Verizon has finally severed all human contact with it's customers. You can only talk to Verizon employees over the phone.
