Google Maps keeps closing

Just started today. I can't do anything on the pre-loaded Google Maps app. The app closes itself after about 20 seconds or so after opening. I don't get any "force close" message, it just closes? Ver. 4.4.0

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago too with Google maps. I ended up uninstalling all the updates, restarting my Android phone, and going into the market and installing the updates again. After that it might have force closed once when I opened the newer version but the next time I opened it worked fine.

I did the same and it seems to be working now. Weird.
