trying to find out how to turn on the "beep" after missing a call or text. not having to look for the little green led
Yes, unfortunately with smartphones, many of the simple features such as reminders that older feature phones have, were replaced by Apps. That's just how it is with smartphones. You can find an app to do pretty much anything you want, though.
You mean the reminder? Go into your Texting app, go to Settings, Notifications, and enable the reminder and set it to your preferred times.
I have the same question.
I am a new Droid X2 owner and although my notifications are on and I can see when I have a new text or VM in the notification area, I cannot find a setting to make it keep beeping until I acknowledge the notification. I have checked the notification settings and see no option for reminder you mention. I only see where I can turn notifications "on" or "off". For voicemail I cannot find any options.

What texting app are you using? In Handcent SMS, go to Settings -- Notification Settings -- Customize -- and Enable Reminders.
So you are saying I need a special ap to get reminder tones? I am using whatever texting ap came with the phone. My old dinosaur phone used to keep making beeps until I acknoweleged the text notification, I was hoping the Droid would do the same without an add-on since I like the texting ap it came with just fine.
Same thing with a missed call. I would prefer the phone to make a beep/noise until I acknowledge I have a missed call.
Thanks
There isn't any reminders on the Droid X2. You have to download the app.
