Would it be wise, if I wanted the Droid X...

To wait for the Thunderbolt instead? I'm stuck between either getting the iPhone or the Droid X. I liked the texting on the iPhone, but I like that the Droid X has the LED notifications and the SMS Delivery notification as well. However, I wasn't too thrilled about just how big the Droid X was. At first I saw that the Thunderbolt was going to be released on 2/24, which is my upgrade date, but I read today that it was pushed back to 2/28... What is everyone's opinion on this?

That is where I saw that the date was pushed back, by the way. Don't know how reliable it is.

The Droid X will actually be thinner than the Thunderboot, the screen size is the same and resolution to so the size of the Droid X shouldnt be a issue and the one thing I dont like abouyt TB is that they removed the video out option, I got use to using my Droid X HDMI out that I cant do without it, I am prepared to hold out for the Bionic.

I didn't realize the screen size was the same, thank you! I really don't need 4g or video out, so i guess the X would work just fine for me.

The Droid X and Ip4 options still put you about 8 months past their intial release dates. With that said I personally steer away from anything Apple. I don't agree with their strong arming of app makers, they hit app makers for 30% of all purchases. This in turn equals higher prices for the end user because the app maker is going to jack the rates up 30% to compensate.

But then let's get back to the subject at hand, the phones: I'd go with Motorola or HTC as their phones are more pocketbook friendly. If the battery kicks the bucket in your Iphone4, you are supposed to take it to be serviced, whereas the other brands you can just swap out the battery, or even purchase an extended life battery.

If you are set on an Iphone, I'd wait till this summer and grab the Iphone 5. I've been saving an upgrade since July so that I can use it on the Droid X2 or equvilent.

I am almost certain that I am not going to get the iPhone. The fact that it doesn't have the SMS Delivery notifications is a big one for me, and I haven't found any apps so far that will give me this without having to purchase "credits" for each text. So I'm pretty certain I'm going with the X or the Thunderbolt, if it's release date is soon enough.

If the Thunderbolt is 4G, VZW has stated there would be an additional data charge each month. This could be a tipping point in your decision making.

I am open to the extra data charge for the LTE if it lives up to the hype, but I talked to the rep earlier this week and was told that in my area it still wont even be released until another year.... Im not open to pay for something I cant use like a number of Sprint users.was forced into doing.

Quite a bit has been said, pro and con. So I'll add something. As far as size goes, believe me, you won't even notice it. It fits into a pocket real easy. Watching videos on the bigger screen is really great. As far as 4G goes, I know that I can well live without it. Pay enough already for data/email, etc., etc., etc.

Crb: i would myself like to have a Thunderbolt one of the reasons i read was because its using the 700mhz band that is LTE they say it'll penatrate buildings alott better Than 1 X can the sound quality is supposed to better an its supposed to be faster.

But all of this is speculation if u cant hear it or see it do it for your self. an if Verizon is going to add all that excess baggage on top of it. an who knows what you'll have to pay for it at Verizon. at Best Buy its Supposed to Sell for 299.99 on a 2 year Contract an

$749.99 full retail. An I think Verizon Done this because they knew a customer would use more Data. And they know it's the Next big next thing an ever one will want one no matter how much Data they Use. But Like Wildman said if you dont have the

service in Your Area do want to Go 30 or 50 or 100 miles to see if works When you know that when we use our phones most of the Time is at Home an if there is No 4G service it's kind of Useless . An Verizon could possible Do some changes to the

current system to Help out in some Area's for our Current phones-Droids . Were i heard this was on the Android Central Pod Cast But do U think they'll make those changes probably not. Because there out make Money from the new phones. Not

improve the old system.! Something to Note! on the Thunderbolt there still having a few Little issues with a accouple of things on it. I think one of them was skype they were having the Issue with. An another thing i wanted to say i'm not trying to discurage

any one away from the phone but there is a alott to way in on. the price,the data use,an because of it being so new. somethings may not work perfectly on it so i would at least give it 2 to 3 months or longer to be out on the system to get the
