Why do I see 2 different Offers ( up to 1000 and up to 800 ) on my account Page?

Like the title says. why do I see 2 entirely different "offers" " up to 1000 for my I phone and up to 1000 for my wife's s21 and THEN, in the next block, I see "Trade in and get up to 800 for our phones ( same phones, one is ANY Unlimited Plan ) and the other is "up to" 800 This plan INCLUDES any plan INCUDING Welcome Plan ) why is this so misleading? Has anybody else noticed this?

Trade-in promotions vary depending on the type of device you trade in, the plan that is active on your line, and the type of device you purchase. Because of this, you may see some differences in trade-in value. If you click on the details of each offer, you will see the requirements for each promotion. Please let us know if this helps.

the "up to" dollar amounts are the real question. What constitutes the 1000 trade in and the 800 dollar trade-in? We have a Iphone 12 mini and a samsung s21 2 yrs old. I would think I'd be getting ( and I've been "told" by the online reps) that we will be getting 1000 each for our upgrades ( we are out of our "contract" ) I did this once before ( 2 yrs ago ) and had to battle for 3-5 months to get the correct offer. ( we were low-balled in our trades that were returned in the original boxes and had screen protectors on them as well)

Is it the contract commitment or is it a false promise on Verizon's part to get us in and then the battle for the correct amounts quoted. The "up to" is the kicker, and upfront and transparency is the key to my whole question.

class3nh, trade-in values are based on three main things.

1) The type of device being traded in. 2) What plan are you currently using? The best values for trade-ins often will be associated with premium or current plans (Unlimited Plus or Play More, for example). 3) If it is a damaged or not damaged promotion. These days, most of our trade-in promotions accept damaged devices (short of battery damage, those are never allowed). There can be other requirements, such as is this a New Line or Upgrade, which are shared in the details.

You can review the requirements for a specific promotion under the ‘Ways to save’ section of the device’s sales page. It has two categories, ‘Add new line’ and ‘Upgrade an existing line.’ You click on a specific promotion for those categories and view the details by clicking the underlined ‘Details’ link. There's also a bar to type in what kind of device you have, and the expected promo value is shown. As part of the purchase process before you complete it, you can add in the other details (your plan and device condition) to get the final trade-in amount.
