Dual Sim use

Which Sim on my Galaxy S23 Ultra should my data be on when I travel to Europe-physical where it is now, or ESim?

Can I download an Esim in a foreigh country and assign it to the one in my phone, if you suggest I keep the physical sim for my regular plan data?

Is the Esim considered unlocked if my data is on the physical Sim?

The Travel Pass information says: ""Wi-Fi Calling when abroad: Wi-Fi calling can be used to call the US at no additional charge. Wi-Fi calling to a country other than the US will be charged International Long Distance rates, regardless of your International Travel plan". Does this mean I can't call phone numbers within the country without being charged?

I have gotten some confusing information, including my S23 Ultra won't be eligible for a foreign Sim with with two message streams.

I suppose: yes, I can say my question was answered because the simplest thing to go is to get the Monthly Travel Pass for both phones to be able to use them in Europe and forget about the dual sim card feature.

It appears that the dual sim feature is of no advantage to me as no one has been able to explain how to set them up for use in Europe . I will be contacting Global Support before I go on my trip to finalize everything.

We always want to make sure that we are able to clarify any questions you might have about your device. In this case,it does take 60 days for all device to be unlocked for international use. Once the SIM is unlocked, you can contact the provider once you're in Europe, to activate the eSIM you would prefer to use. If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know.
