Verizon is bombarding me with offers (via email and the app) to upgrade, and recently the offers improved to $1000 for an XR or above, in any condition (as long as there's no battery damage), when upgrading to a 15 Pro. I happen to have two XRs to trade, so this change caught my eye, but whenever I try and actually go through the process (online, in-store, via chat, AND via phone call), the system only offers $500 for the XR. The reps can see the offer for $1000 includes the XR (and every phone above that), but they can't get it to work. If I change it to an XS, for example, and say it is damaged and on Sprint, even (RIP), it offers the $1000.
The irony is this started on the same day I got an email regarding Verizon's settlement of their massive class action lawsuit regarding "Administrative charges." Why they choose to operate this way I'll never understand, but unless someone can tell me the magic words to get them to honor this deal, I'm off to find two of the most smashed, useless XSs or above to trade in instead.
