Remote No Longer Controls Volume and On/Off

Within the last few days I have lost the capability to adjust volume and turn my TV off using my Fios remote (which does not have voice feature) but I can access the Guide and DVR menus without any problems. To adjust the volume or turn the the TV On/Off I have to use my Samsung TV Remote. Any ideas on how I can get my Fios remote to work the way it has in the past?

Try wiping out the programming on the remote and re-programming it.
