Autopay Non-Compliance fee

For my last bill I received a autopay non compliance fee and I just don’t understand why. So I set up my autopay with my debit card (I do not have a credit card) but I got paid about 4days before the autopay was scheduled and I’m a pay when I get paid type of guy. So autopay is mostly to help me not forget to pay. Well when I pay I was charged a $10 Autopay Non-Compliance Fee. I just don’t understand why? Is autopay a sham?

Hello, Aaronc1904, we want to make sure you're able to make the most of your Auto Pay. How long have you had your Auto Pay set up? Has your debit card been your payment method since before this past February?

If you only just recently set up autopay, I don't think it goes into effect until the next month's bill. Also, if you try to pay "early" you might glitch out the system and end up paying twice when the autopay kicks in, so beware.

The "autopay non-compliance fee" is the higher rate you'd be paying for your service plan (if you look at the fine print of all the service plans, it says it's X dollars/month with autopay and $10 higher if you're not using autopay).
