Texts going to someone else’s phone

Yesterday a friend who also has an iPhone sent me several texts that went to someone else’s phone (not an iPhone). I did not receive any of the texts. She took a screenshot of the text exchange and sent it to me. She also received a call that looked like it was coming from my number, so she answered, but it was not me. This is VERY concerning.

Hi Yspn4132. This is alarming anytime we have communication routing issues. From what you have stated, it appears your friend has been "Phished" or "Smished" where the caller id has been modified to impersonate another number. There are so many bad actors these days you can't be too careful. Check out the following information:
