Service After Paying Off Device

I recently paid off my iPhone 13 Pro after three years of payments and now I’m noticing my apps running slower, data downloading/uploading slower and internet use is much slower. I’m no dummy when it comes to companies wanting you to constantly be under contract with new phones, but is this really necessary Verizon? I’ve been your customer for 8 years and it’s not the high rates that are making me consider leaving. It’s games like this! Guess I’ll just take my newly paid off device to another carrier and pay less! It’s a shame

What results do you get when performing a speed test from your phone off of Wi-Fi?

I ran the health check and the only thing wrong is my battery, which is at 85% so not even to the point it’s considered damaged.
I ran the internet (WiFi) speed test and it’s 148 MB download and 128 MB, so very high speed.
Any suggestions now?

Have you tried clearing the cache and uninstalling any apps you don't use? It's possible that there's just too much stuff running in the background constantly which is causing the phone to slow down.

We want to get to the bottom of this issue. Can you check on the health of the battery? You can do this by going to Settings, Battery, Battery health. This article from Apple explains how your battery health is tied to the performance of the device: https://support.apple.com/en-us/101575 ~Peter

I am having a similar issue. This is the third phone where I've had either service or phone issues within days of paying the phone off. I know Verizon says they are not doing anything to cause this, but I don't buy it. Three times is not a coincidence.

I agree my husband and I both have been going through the same thing, we've been through at least 4 phones each and as soon as they are paid off whammy all the weird things start happening, not getting messages, battery dies to fast apps not working right and quit a few more things, Verizon is the culprit it's not the software, I'm going to take my phone to a different provider and see what happens

I know for a fact that you do it because I've been through 4 phones with you and it happens every time my phone gets paid off quit playing the software game because it's not it, I will be going to a different provider with my newly paid off phone

Let us know the outcome! Currently having the same issues, since the day it has been paid off. I agree with you as well, Verizon is doing something to make us “want”/“need” an upgrade. Ridiculous!

100% verizon is slowing down speeds. I paid off my Samsung Galaxy22. Once I did, pages won't load, or take for ever to load,software updates still happen so that's not the problem. I did not have these problems when I was paying for the phone. Thinking about just getting a prepaid, skip the high bills,and the all the fees. Once the phone was paid off, they also raised my monthly bill by $10
