My traditional home phone service was disconnected in 2018 as part of a billing dispute when the old copper wire degraded and was not repaired or replaced by Verizon in Massachusetts, despite repeated requests. Nevertheless, I was charged for monthly service, even though the static on the line made it unusable. I would now like to reactivate my landline and get my old number back, if possible. The old number is not being currently used and has not been reassigned, I do not believe. Has anyone had this situation or something similar? I have not been able to navigate the call system or the chat because this is a landline issue, with which they do not appear to be able to handle. Please help!!
