What to use in place of Message + on my iphone when connected to only wifi

My Message + plus app is saying "Unable to generate PIN" . I don't get messages from Android users on my Apple IOS main app if I am only connected to WIFI. I will be travelling abroad where my Verizon cell signal will be unavailable and only wifi available. I used to get those message via the Message+ app, what do I do now?
