New Roku TV

Question

I am considering buying a Roku TV for my elderly mother. She currently has an older TV, and she subscribes to a good Fios channel plan with no streaming services.  My question is, will she easily be able to watch the channels that are in her Fios plan on this Roku TV? If she has certain channels that she typically watches, will she still be able to tune to them on the Roku TV, without using any apps? (She's 88 years old). The Roku tv controller looks so unfamiliar!

I think I have read here about having to use a Fios app with Roku, and not being able to access channels, etc,  but I don't know if any of that applies since she will still have her Fios set top box and remote that goes with it. She would not be able to use a smart phone or app to get her channels, so I am really hoping that's not what I hear, lol.

I'm sure she currently has one or another Fios boxes in the house. She would still use those boxes the same way she does now. Hopefully they are connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. If she uses the Fios remote now you would just have to program it to control the Roku TV. You really don't have to use the Roku remote if you choose not to. The Roku TV has the Roku operating system for its built in software, which opens her up to streaming if she wishes. She DOES NOT have to use streaming if she doesn't want to. The TV will operate just like any other TV with the Fios boxes.
