Website blocked by Verizon

My website is being blocked by Verizon cellular. I can access it on wifi on my Iphone but when I disable wifi, I get "the server can't be found ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED".

I can open other websites without any issue with wifi disabled.

I tried an android device on verizon and couldn't open my website.

I am a financial advisor and half of my prospects use Verizon network and this is affecting my business.

I have two other websites hosted by the same provider with the same settings and those can be opened on Verizon network.

Please help. Verizon customer support hasn't been very helpful.

No blocks on my device. The website opens when I enable wifi. I asked another friend using Verizon to try opening my website on their device and they see the same issue.

I tried 2 different browsers - Safari and Chrome and the same issue persists.

Does the site have specific VPN settings? We're unable to block sites, this would be something coming from the host server rather than us.

Melissa, the issue is only happening on Verizon's network not on wifi or other networks.

Hi, I’m experiencing the same issue right now. My website works fine on Wi-Fi, but when I switch to Verizon cellular data, I get the same error: "server can't be found ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED." Other websites load without any issues on Verizon, and like you, my site is hosted with the same provider as other functioning sites. This is really frustrating, especially since it's impacting my reach. If anyone has found a solution or has suggestions, please share!

Sounds like the Verizon Wireless Domain Name Servers are not getting updated properly with your sites' domain info. You might try resubmitting the domain update again. Could also be the Verizon Wireless DNS your wireless connection is using needs to be restarted to get all the updates. That may happen on some maintenance schedule and may correct your issue.

I am also encountering the same issue my website is working perfectly fine on Wi-Fi, but when I switch to Verizon’s cellular network, I get the same “server can’t be found (ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED)” error. It seems to only affect Verizon connections, since other networks load the site without any problem.

Like you, I’ve checked DNS settings, hosting configuration, and SSL — everything looks correct. I’ve even confirmed that other sites on the same server are accessible, which makes it even more confusing. It’s frustrating because visitors using Verizon can’t reach the site at all.

If anyone has figured out why Verizon might be blocking or failing to resolve specific domains, or if there’s a process to request a review or delisting, please share your solution it would be greatly appreciated. I think it is happening on my end only, I can share the URL if you want.

What make/model phone are you using or others that experience the issue? I tested using my Motorola razr 2025 android phone. WiFi is fine resolving the domain name. I turned off WiFi and was connected to the Verizon 4G network and still was able to resolve the domain name properly. Both DNS lookup and Traceroute using the android Ping & Net utility app are successful in resolving and finding 'thetexasroadhousemenu.com' domain at IP address 104.21.70.48. Now, I am located in the northeast in northern Vermont and my Verizon connection may not be getting the same DNS server where you are located. If so, the DNS server that you are getting may not be current in its DNS database and might need to be updated by Verizon Wireless. I don't know if the 5G service and 4G service use the same DNS servers or different, but it sounds like whatever DNS server your cellular service is pointing to doesn't have the domain in its database. You might escalate support to open a ticket with tech support/network services to investigate the issue.
