Does anyone know why 43 and 5 are blocked in "block calls and messages" in my Verizon app and why I can't delete them for mobile (I don't have Fios). States 2 out of 5 calls and messages blocked.
Happy Monday! Being on top of your account is vital, especially if you are managing your calls and messages. Verizon is here to help.
We want to be on the same page. Please elaborate, what exactly is going on?

Under my device in My Verizon app there are options to block services, manage number sharing, block calls and messages and much more. Under block calls and messages it offers 5 blocked number slots. Two out of five slots are used for 43 and 5. I'm assuming they are star and pound codes. I cannot delete them.
Other concerns are the unlocking phone with pin and puk code and number sharing showing my device able to share with 5 devices (shrared devices not listed). That's only to name a few concerns.
I posted about being hacked for 5 months. I've talked with support agents for more hours than I can count and visited the local store and haven't had anything resolved. I have gotten new phones and different carriers with all new information but it seems that this device is hacking new devices. I've been through several Samsung phones and they all have malicious Spyware.
Verizon offered me another S24 Ultra for free but I know that will be comprised as well so I declined for the time being. I'm running out of options. The reason for this post of blocked codes is because I can't text anymore.
My phone seems to be switching to these operators since hack as well.
I really need help. This is taking its toll and ruining my life.

If you have had numerous phones get hacked and the problem hasn't gone away even with changing carriers, I have to wonder if it's because you have the phones synced to something else which is infected with a virus or other malware where the hacker is controlling everything through whatever the other device is. You'd have to stop using your phone for the time being and remove the malware from the other device first, then factory reset your phone to clear anything else the hacker could have installed to the phone.
There are no blocks but thanks anyways
All true except that I literally went and got a prepaid phone, paid cash, didn't provide personal information or link anything to it and it was hacked five minutes later by this phone which was off and didn't come within 5 feet of new device. Apparently Google LLC uses sensors, location, biometrics and other info to automatically corrupt nearby devices used by me due to modified versions of apps and system. They state that agreed to all terms and conditions but that was initially done by the hacker or hackers that tried to ransom my accounts and info back 5 months ago.
Hi! It's a pleasure to meet you! We always want to be sure you have reliable coverage at all times and know how important it is to get this taken care of as soon as possible. Please send us a PM, so we can further assist you today! *EW
Has anyone noticed that "support" has not answered the subject about what the two blocked codes are? This is literally the kind of support I've gotten for 5 months of hack and I pay for support. 20 years of service with Verizon. Thinking maybe another provider...
Hello, we understand how important it is for you to get the support and help you need when it comes down to your understanding why some of your calls are blocked with those codes. We would love to look into this for you to see what we can do to fix this. Send us a PM, so we can further assist you with this.

Thank you. I'm more interested in what the codes represent though and less worried about unblocking them. I believe *43 is something associated with Fios and maybe not Mobile. No idea what 5 represents.
Is this not the My Verizon app with blocking options? I believe it's the same. Chrome is not functioning properly. See below.
Thanks
We want to make sure you're able to manage your account and use your phone without having to worry about your security. We wouldn't have blocked those two numbers, and we're not sure what they would mean.
We're sending you a DM so we can gather more details.

Did anyone ever find out what this means I had it on an account we closed and opened a new account now it’s 41 and 5 not 43 and 5 but it’s 100% no association with old account at all
i’m having the same issue, i also can’t receive any verification code from Klarna after switching over. i don’t know if the issues are related but i have 5 & 42 blocked and i can’t remove them.
gabeham21, we want to make sure that you're able to receive verification codes and that we clear up any concerns regarding your blocks. To confirm, is your account prepaid or postpaid? Are you able to receive any short code SMS at all, or is the issue only with Klarna?

We want to make sure we are able to clarify any questions you might have. Where are you seeing these codes? Is this happening with a specific number?

Why is ever fixed. I have code 15 and 5 and Verizon is trying to act like they are new and they don’t know what these code are
I have the same exact issue. Except my numbers are 26 and 5. Into have been hacked since July and have hundreds of pages of communication at all tiers and departments and still no one cares if I'm in danger or will evwn respond. Can you please help asaso
We hate to hear your phone appears to be hacked the best way to resolve that is with a factory data wipe.

If the issue still persists please send us a Private message so we can better assist.
I have the exact same issue. However, my blocked numbers are 09 & 5. I have a 14 Pro Max & 15 Pro Max both have the same numbers blocked and I can’t delete them. Please advise. Thanks!
I have the same issue
I have 5 and 26 as being blocked
I have had similar issues since July 2024. And have also spent hours on the phone with customer service via chat, text, calls and even emails to corporate. I have filed my second complaint with FCC and still nothing. This is definitely taking it's toll on my life as well. And no one will help. In the interim I'm being charged full price and being held to as contract that isn't being upheld on Verizons end. Basically hostage until phone is paid off. Currently on the phone with tier 2 customer care and even though tier one saw the blocks and could not remove. Tier 2 says no blocks exist. This is insane.
Have same issue with 41 & 5, and i do not wish to receive or send a PM about it, because the point of these public forums is to have the solution available for other users who have the same problem. So please respond here with the following:
Function these codes have when on block list.
Instructions on how to remove them from block list(traditional steps to remove blocked numbers is not effective in these cases, oressing the x does precisely nothing).
Thank you
Based on the posts in this thread, the "codes" being used/blocked have something to do with how the hackers are getting into your devices. It changes every so often so the crooks can keep on getting in. One of the earlier posts makes me think the original source of the problem was a compromised Google Account, but with all the ways hackers can get into things, wouldn't be surprised if there are other means.
I've read assorted things elsewhere regarding what to do, but because a data breach doesn't just affect your phone, Verizon has limited ability to help. You'd be better off reporting this to law enforcement or even your local FBI office, particularly if it is a business which was affected, and contacting an identity theft recovery service.
