Hello, Rudyjnmd01. Help is here as you definitely deserve some answers and a resolution. When you begin service with us, regardless of the cost of the phone, you must always pay taxes and surcharges. Also, for billing purposes, you are charged for the phone but in the event you have a promotion, you will see a credit each month for the Device Payment plan. For example, if the phone has a monthly Device Payment cost of $22.22, you will see this charge on your billing, but then you will see a credit for -$22.22 per month, canceling out the monthly cost. Regardless of the cost of the phone, you must still pay for the actual service (calls, text messages, and data) and because of this, a credit check is required as there are times when some customers may need to put down a deposit based on their credit rating.
