How can I hide my number on all calls. Not *67 but permanently for my Google Pixel 8a?
Launch the Phone App - tap the three dots top right - Settings - Calling Accounts - tap your provider name - Additional Settings - Caller id - tap 'Hide number'.
These are the instructions I found for this feature:

I know if you Google search this question you will see numerous sites and even AI listing those instructions. But on both of my Pixel phones there is no "Additional settings" after tapping the provider name. Many other users online have stated this worked on their Pixel phones but I am guessing they are not on Verizon. Verizon must hide access to the "Additional settings" in the Phone app. You could try dialing *67 to temporarily enable hide caller ID and then see if that makes the Hide Number option appear in "Additional settings".
I wonder if this is a Verizon thing. If so, that's surprising the CS rep didn't know you can't permanently hide your number on outgoing calls. Even my cheapie Samsung has such a feature, but my phone is former carrier unlocked.
My phone is 100% unlocked, purchased directly from Google. When you say "former carrier unlocked" do you mean it is a carrier version but is now unlocked?
My guess is the Additional Settings option in the phone app is a carrier controlled option and some phones can see the option and others cannot.
Yes, my Samsung is a different carrier's version, but I had it unlocked when I switched to Verizon.
I know I used to have a "hide my number" option on my phone when I looked in the settings, but I just checked while writing this post...and guess what?...said feature is now gone! Wondering if this is something with One UI 6.1 being installed, which I only got not that long ago because it took that long for the update to be pushed to my phone.
