change channels by favorites

I had to upgrade my set top boxes and was sent stream TV set top boxes as a replacement. These new boxes have no way to flip through channels by favorite channels. You can set the guide to filter by favorite channels ( this helps some)but cannot flip through channels using the up and down arrows by favorite channels anymore. Why on earth have a favorite option if all it is for is the guide? seems silly. PLEASE put the option to filter channel up and down by favorites back. Its annoying to have to go to the guide instead of just surfing up and down.

I left comcast for this. Verizon’s new streaming DVR box is frustrating to use. A simple “favorites” filter at the top near “guide” would be user friendly!! Please do an update!

For a technology company Verizon often has the least intelligent technology! Why go backwards on something?

I agree 100%. This is terrible. I was also forced to upgrade my set top boxes and am very unhappy so far. Two boxes instead of one requiring 2 power outlets, the chanels flip so slowly and I spent 10 minutes adding my favorites back and have no way to flip through them OR bring up an in screen mini guide to flip through while watching a show. Why were these features removed?

As of 6/26/2025 you still cannot scroll channels by favorites. There is a setting in Settings > FiOS TV Device > Viewing preferences > Guide and Channel Settings > Channel Change Preferences that allows you to select either All Channels or Subscribed Channels Only. Subscribed Channels Only is useless because if a channel is in your package it is technically subscribed. So there is no way to exclude Spanish language channels, for example, from scrolling.

I am SOOOO not a fan of this new Android TV based system.

I don't have the latest boxes, but can you set up filters, then turn on the Remember Filters option?

I know how to select the filter to see my favorite channels, but is there a way to set my favorite channels as the default? Do I really need to reselect the filter everytime I want to view the channel guide? I just came over from Xfinity, and so far, I'm very disappointed with my experience.

I think if you just Uncheck "Subscribed" and check off "Subscribed 1" it will default to "Subscribed 1" in the guide.
