Signal issues sos

Over the last year I have been having intermittent signal issues and my phone goes into SOS. I went to a store recently and they checked my phone and there is nothing wrong with my phone. I have always had weak signal since moving here but now it is getting worse.

Considering that your signal strength has always been poor, it's not your phone. With more and more devices connecting to cell phone towers all the time - even light bulbs and light switches can be "smart" these days - it's as if everybody has an extra 5 phones on them and they're all using the wireless networks, causing reduction in overall signal strength since the towers have to output signal to more stuff. The only things you can do are to either buy a Verizon network extender or a 3rd party cell phone signal booster system to enhance the signal strength in your home, or switch carriers to someone who works better.

According to their coverage map I live in a 5guwb/5g location I shouldn’t be having these issues

Dead zones/weak signal strength areas can occur anywhere, and there are a number of reasons. I too live in a 5G UW service area, but my signal strength at home fluctuates because I live on the downside of a hill, and I'm a prepaid customer, so am deprioritized to the postpaid customers. There are 4 major college/university campuses all within 40 miles of each other in my city, and during midterm or final exam season, my signal strength often drops to 2 bars at home. If the network isn't congested, I can get 4 bars at home. These aren't the only reasons for poor signal strength.

To clarify, does this happen both indoors and outdoors? Does service improve when you leave the area, damrex? If so, how far do you have to travel before service improves?

Both indoors and outdoors. I have not noticed anywhere else but in the area of my home.

I have not attempted to leave the house and see how far I have to go to get service again.
