Stop installing games we didn't ask for or approve. If we wanted these games we will install ourselves!!
This is frustrating enough to make me go through all of my settings and deny permissions for everything. Come to find during my hunt for app permissions, Verizon is also selling all of our data, everything we search online, and even the phone numbers of people we are in contact with. So I'm glad that these stupid auto installed games have angered me enough to do something about it and find this along the way. Violations of privacy like this should be asked in plain English and without the veil of corporate jargon, without the automatic "assume yes until you dig through everything to find the hidden no button." It's so exhausting, but that's exactly what corporations are counting on.
This is because you have a Verizon carrier phone...all carriers have means for 3rd parties to market or advertise somehow on carrier phones. It's the reason why carrier phones are cheaper than factory unlocked versions. To prevent random app downloads, disable the Verizon App Manager. Unfortunately, you have to do this every time you get a software update. The only surefire way around this is to buy factory unlocked phones. However, unlocked phones won't run any carrier apps except for the "My [carrier]" one, and no carrier will troubleshoot an unlocked phone, so you're on your own if it begins acting up.
As for opting out of other 3rd party marketing, here's an older thread about doing that:
