Well I should have my new iPhone 16 Pro Max today, but Verizon shattered that dream.
Last Friday, I woke up and preordered two iPhone 16 Pro Max phone. After paying for the processing fees, I got a confirmation email that everything was set to go for a September 20 delivery. Nice, smooth, easy peezy. I checked something on the MyVerizon app and found out that both of my phones have been placed on hold. When I called in the customer service department to find out why they told me I had to talk to the fraud department to prove that it was me purchasing these phones. I won’t go into the process of what they had to do, but I’ve never felt more untrusted in all my life.
After the orders were lifted, and I was told that this will not affect my pre-sale delivery date, I received an email the next morning to find out that one of the phones was canceled, then two minutes later, ordered again. When I called him to find out why, they told me I was the one that called him to cancel it. After trying to convince them it was not me, the customer service agent told me this is happening to 90% of the customers that pre-sale on Friday. And because my phone was re-ordered (which I never did) it, moved my delivery date to mid October…
By the way, the phone that was reordered was also placed on hold. I had to go through the approval process three times. I think my Verizon days are coming to an end. I do not wish the customer service I received on anyone.
I guess see you in October, new phone.
