Fios TV + Android 12 Update

When will Fios TV+ boxes get Android 12 update like the Fios Stream boxes just got? Fios TV + boxes have no ability to select HDR or Dolby Atmos audio.in Android 11. The Fos stream box has this ability since the update to Android 12, and is actually a better streaming platform than your current Fios TV+ box.

The Stream box is $ 69 to buy. Some subscribers are paying up to $ 200 a month on Fios with internet and TV. I'm disappointed in the Fios TV + platform. It should have the latest Android TV update.

Customer service has no idea what your talking about when you call regarding this issue. Go into Android TV settings on both boxes and compare the audio and video settings availability on both. You will see the Stream box has much more versatility in the audio and video settings than the Fios TV+ box.

Hopefully someone sees this issue and updates the Fios TV+ boxes to Android 12. Anyone that has a home theater at home will agree.

Are you saying the the stream box I have installed by the Verzion tech and rented monthly is different than the one that looks just like it for sale outright on the Verizon site for $69.99 ?

Fios tv is way behind Directv stream which I find hilarious since Verizon likes to brag about their "fiber" lol...Directv air device allows video and Audio Formats MPEG2 Dolby Audio MPEG-4 AVC Single or Dual Display up to 1080i60/1080p30 or UHD/4K HEVC / VP9 Display HDR10 SMPTE ST 2084, ST 2086 Blu-ray Standard and HLG Support....It embarrasses this Verizon junk in many ways ..I have both Verizon and directv stream the audio and video on Directv is superior to this plus garbage. You can actual choose your own video and audio output including passthrough ,native etc it's like a service menu in the old verizon boxes ..Verizon has a lot of catching up to do.

upgraded to 2gig yesterday and required update to fios tv+ DVR

the android based tv+ device unable to output multi channel surround audio. via HDMI 2.1 to LG C2 with eARC to Bose ultra soundbar

no settings to choose like the stream box i got free years ago when getting fios moved to another apartment. the disappointment with that stream box at the time was unable to watch actual live fios cable tv lol.

somewhat disappointing this isn't fleshed out. getting 2.0 audio through a very modern and compatible setup is annoying. anyone upgrading to 2 gig for a home is likely the type that would also care about the related AV tech settings and having them function.

the fios one moca box had no issues

Did you look in the Android TV settings under Display and sound?

yes, it is very generic two options

- use the defined multi channel options reported by your connected sound system (assuming over HDMI CEC) [automatic]

- don't use multi channel audio

unlike the stream box on newer android tv os, can pick formats

Is there a Andriod TV update coming soon to the Fios TV+ devices? Currently the the Android platform is 11. I believe Andriod 13 or 14 is out. There is no adjustments for audio or video in Android 11. Since last guide update when I turn my TV on it defaults to my TV's Google Home page. I have to manually switch the input to go to Fios home page. It worked fine before the guide updated. Verizon doesn't seem to be to worried on keeping this new platform update. There is a ton of issues with this new TV platform. Have called hundreds of times. They put that magic ticket in for the problem, but never hear back and the problem still exists.

It seems that they are not interested in the TV end just the Internet and cell phone part.

I have the same problem as above. The issue is with the TV+ boxes. The only audio settings on the TV+ boxes are “Automatic: use device reported formats” or “None: never use surround sound” . I also have Automatic set and live TV channels are in Dolby 2.1.

I also have a LG C2 TV but with eARC to a LG soundbar, subwoofer and surround speakers. The same system worked perfectly with the Fios One box. Streaming apps audio are Dolby 5.1, so it looks like it is the TV+ boxes.
